Faisca
Mike “Faisca” Landry began his capoeira journey in 1998, when he was introduced to the movie “Only The Strong.” He taught himself how to play capoeira until 2000 when he joined CapuraGinga started to train with Mestre Loka. When Faisca came to college he decided to start a club to spread his love of capoeira around campus, he was the founder and president from 2002 – 2006. He continues to play an integral role in the club as an instructor and advisor.
Vispa
Justin “Vispa” Farnsworth’s life as a capoeirista was also spurred into action by “Only the Strong.” He devoured everything he could find about capoeira, practicing together with Faisca until they both joined CapuraGinga together in 2000. Vispa assists with teaching classes and lending his knowledge and skill in capoeira to the members of the club.
